Our Mission

We envision workplaces and service systems where safety and ethics work together—not in opposition. Our approach integrates relational ethics, trauma-informed principles, and professional security practice to help leaders and teams navigate complexity with integrity. The goal is simple and ambitious: safer environments that honor dignity, responsibility, and human connection.

Experience

I have spent my life guided by a deeply rooted protective instinct—one that has shaped both my career and my approach to working with people. For more than 40 years, I’ve operated in high-intensity environments where safety, judgment, and calm presence matter most.

My professional path began unexpectedly after intervening to stop a fight in a bar. That moment led to work as a bouncer and later as a “cooler” in larger venues, where my focus was never punishment, but prevention—ensuring people made it home safely without injury or arrest, even when emotions were high. That philosophy carried me into safety roles at large concert venues, including Green Room operations, where my skills were further refined under pressure.

I later transitioned into fugitive recovery work, commonly known as bounty hunting, and eventually founded my own bail bonds and fugitive recovery business, which remains in operation today. Alongside this, I developed and operated an electronic monitoring company, partnering with courts to provide ankle-bracelet surveillance services.

Across four decades of work in volatile, high-risk situations, I have developed a strong code of conduct centered on safety, professionalism, and emotional control. I believe true protection comes not from force, but from awareness, restraint, and the ability to remain steady when others cannot.

Today, I bring that experience into my work by helping individuals and organizations navigate their most stressful moments with clarity, confidence, and calm. I look forward to sharing the knowledge and skills gained over a lifetime of protecting others.

About Susan

I bring more than 40 years of experience in business systems consulting, administration, and behavioral health, with a career grounded in building effective, ethical, and sustainable programs across complex environments.

For the past 18 years, I have practiced as a licensed therapist, holding licenses in Oregon, California, Texas and Utah integrating clinical expertise with a strong systems perspective. My work bridges direct care, leadership, and operational design—allowing me to support individuals, teams, and organizations while also addressing the structures that shape outcomes.

I have spent five years working in Tribal Health settings, where I gained firsthand experience navigating the intersection of behavioral health, community priorities, cultural values, regulatory requirements, and real-world operational demands. This work deepened my commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed approaches that honor both people and process.

Susan brings a unique blend of systems expertise, clinical depth, and cultural humility. Her experience working within Tribal Health settings allows her to approach leadership, policy, and practice with respect for sovereignty, community priorities, and the lived realities of the people served.

Education and Experience

2023-2026

Director of Behavioral Health

Klamath Tribal Health and Family Services

As Behavioral Health Director, I provided executive oversight for seven behavioral health departments, guiding clinical operations, staff development, compliance, and program growth across a complex, multi-service system. In this role, I worked closely with Tribal leadership, clinicians, and community partners to align behavioral health services with organizational values, regulatory requirements, and community needs.

A defining accomplishment of my tenure was leading the interdisciplinary team that became the first Tribe in the nation to successfully bill for traditional Tribal healing practices. This work required navigating policy,  and clinical documentation frameworks while honoring cultural integrity and Tribal sovereignty—establishing a precedent for integrating traditional healing into reimbursable behavioral health systems nationwide.

2021-2023

Behavioral Health Manager

Port Gamble S'klallam Tribe

As Behavioral Health Manager for the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe, I oversaw mental health and substance use disorder counselors, peer support specialists, and clinical operations within Tribal Behavioral Health. In this role, I worked closely with other Tribal programs—including social services, re-entry, and recovery support—to create coordinated, whole-person services aligned with community priorities. This work emphasized collaboration, continuity of care, and culturally responsive practice within a Tribal Health setting.

2008-2011

MA, Psychology - Marriage and Family Therapy
Saybrook University

With a foundation in evidence-based practice and humanistic psychology, Saybrook University emphasizes culturally responsive, whole-person care. This training prepared me to work thoughtfully and effectively in Tribal Health and other diverse settings where clinical skill, cultural humility, and systems awareness are equally critical.

Together, we bring complementary expertise in trauma-informed care, ethics, leadership, and physical safety. Our work is shaped by decades of experience across behavioral health, security, and organizational systems, and guided by a shared commitment to dignity, balance, and ethical practice.
